(GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN) . . . PFC's newest film A Dog's Life: The Oscar Lose Story has been awarded the "Family-Approved" seal by the international non-profit Dove Foundation. The group encourages and promotes "the creation, production, distribution and consumption of wholesome family entertainment" and their mission is "to move Hollywood in a more family-friendly direction."
In their published review by Edwin L. Carpenter, he writes, "This is a fascinating documentary . . . a good one for the entire family with something to offer just about everyone. We gladly award this DVD our Dove 'Family-Approved' Seal." Out of a possible five stars (doves, actually) the film was rated four doves.
The Dove Foundation also owns and operates the Dove Movie Channel® which provides "wholesome, uplifting movies to patients in every children's hospital in America. This entertainment is free to the patient." A Dog's Life: The Oscar Lose Story is now eligible to be broadcast on the network this fall.
The film, PFC's first documentary, is being distributed worldwide via Los Angeles-based Nemours Marketing and is available on Netflix, Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Target.com, FilmBaby.com and coming soon to Blockbuster. The movie is also being sold in Japan as an import and throughout the world via the Internet.
Nemours President Scott duPont notified PFC of the Dove Foundation award in an e-mail and wrote " Congratulations! I am guessing this is your 1st Dove Award? I am thrilled to death after researching how tough their standards are. This will help us sell the film to large family retailers like Wal-Mart, Christian bookstores and others who rely on the Dove seal of approval before purchasing product. This is a prestigious and much deserved award for an amazing film."
