PFC films in development.

The Pamplin Film Company (PFC) has three feature films in active development with two additional projects being written. The successful development of a motion picture project can take years, or even decades, to complete.

In the development process movie producers fund and finalize a motion picture screenplay, the legal structure is put in place, locations scouted, cast members are attached, a detailed budget is prepared and production funding is sought.

Some of the most successful films of all-time have spent decades in development - even with major Hollywood stars and/or "name" directors attached to the project. "Gangs of New York," "Gandhi" and "Chicago" each took over 20 years and "The Lord of the Rings" took an amazing 30 years to develop and fund. All those films, by the way, won or were nominated for Academy Awards®.
